Molly…
A native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, Molly grew up hunting behind her grandfather, long-time huntsman of Brandywine Hounds John White. As a young teenager, she exercised horses for the Houghtons at Sylmar Farm. Ronnie and Betsy were family friends and provided the hunt with many staff horses over the years. After an early graduation from high school, Molly moved to the UK, near Cheltenham to work for Glazely Stud. There, she schooled racehorses, qualified point to pointers and chase horses in the hunt field, and taking horses to the races on the local circuit.
A serious kick to the chest forced her to come back to the states, and when recovered, she split her time between college and working at Churchhill Downs for many well-known trainers including Wayne Lucas, Randy Bradshaw, and Dallas Stewart. In 2000, Molly moved to Virginia and spent two happy seasons running the barn and whipping in at Middleburg Hunt. In 2002, she went to work for then MFH Mildred (Bucky)Slater to manage her string of 10 foxhunters, hunting with multiple packs and averaging hunting 5 days a week for 3 seasons.
It was thus an easy transition to working for Piedmont Hunt full time, making staff horses and whipping in. It was during this time Molly met Donnie Yovonovich and began riding races on the Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania circuit. She had a successful amateur career, riding 80 races over 25 courses with 28 wins, 18 seconds, and an unprecedented and still unmatched streak of 10 consecutive wins over jumps which was covered by the Washington Post. She is currently in her 42nd season of hunting,
