The Goldfinch Irish Cob Stallion

A beautiful example of a traditional Irish Cob by Hermits Golden Chalice, The Goldfinch is a stout 14.3 with fantastic bone, feather, and enough mane and tail for 5 horses.

He was imported in November of 2025, and has been started in work. He is brave and forward on hacks, and though new to jumping, is very tidy and safe popping logs. Extremely sound and sure-footed with no shoes. He is gentle, kid and dog safe, and has a fantastic temperament. If he were a person, you'd want him working for you. He's very self motivated, loves a job, likes to lead. We can’t wait to do more with him.

Back in Ireland, he did some showing, was a proven sire, and pulled a cart in and around traffic. He would be an excellent cross with a variety of mares. Cross with a TB mare and you would get a mid-sized, level headed, indestructible amateur horse athletic to do any job. Cross with a Connemara and you'd have the perfect family pony.
